Dave Goerlitz was a model for Winston cigarettes longer than any other spokesperson. Then in November, 1988, Dave took an historic stand against the tobacco industries by condemning their targeting and selling their lethal products to kids around the world.
He testified before Congress that when he asked an RJR representative if he smoked he replied, "We don't smoke that stuff, we just sell it. We reserve the right to smoke for the young, poor, black, and stupid."
He's basically a legend. I had the opportunity to see him speak at the Wisconsin State Tobacco Control conference in Madison Wisconsin. He's totally crazy, but was a great story, and is a great activist. His story is second to none. You can check out his website and his book.
